How VAT Calculation Works
Removing VAT (reverse VAT): Divide by (1 + rate). For 20% VAT: £120 ÷ 1.20 = £100 net, £20 VAT.
Adding VAT: Multiply by (1 + rate). For 20% VAT: £100 × 1.20 = £120 gross.
